Ok, so for my AP Engligh Class we have been studying famous poets and their poetry. I decided that I really like Robert Frost's! But anyway, then we had to write our own original poetry. The thought scared me at first, but surprisingly, now I think that it is kinda fun! This is one that I wrote, Enjoy!
Those Were The Days
Those were the simple, far off days,
with only the sunlight building my dreams
the golden, carefree days,
oh, to be a child again.
Neighborhood children playing water games,
uncaring in freeless thought.
Bumblebees fly by, I have not a care in the world.
But those days are gone, lost in time.
Hearing the old school bell takes me back,
but only for a moment, for adulthood is calling.
Its time for those days to be but a memory,
occasionally flying through the wind,
building the days that are yet to come.

You are so amazing! And you blog too. I love you and the poem is great.
Impressive. I liked the pictures it pulled up in my head when I read it. I also am fond of the sound of a school bell. It brings back good memories
Madi,
Your poem is the best poem of all the poems. If there was a "Phantom of Poems", he'd be all over that.
Your blog is great. Not bad... for a beginner!
Thanks for being such a great example to our kids! It's nice when we can point to you and Hillary and tell Natalie that we want her to be like the both of you! You guys are great!
Love, your Uncle/Cousin/and former boss... Dale
I love the poem! I loved AP English--well, most of the time. :) I'm glad you've started a blog!
I don't even know what to say...literally.
